The car has been started and run up the street. There was a bit of lag with the Weber, so a local carb tu9ng guy has dropped by to sort out some fine tuning on the car. It runs much better now and pulls fairly well for an 1100. |

A few small details to sort out, but finally the car is running, driving and pretty much finished. I have mounted new tires and set up the alignment using the string method. I goes in for a professional alignment in the next few days. For now I am putting a few km on it each day breaking in the engine and looking for any other issues. So far it seems good and is fun to drive!
Is there a way to post a first drive video? |

Thanks for the kind words Mike. I did have the advantage of having the engine already rebuilt and ready to go. But as others may know, it's not a "quick and easy build" as was advertised in the brochures..
I appreciated the help I had getting questions answered on the forum.
This is how it all began! |

'Rear carpet sections laid in place. Looks more like a finished car now!'
Mike, the car looks great. A question - in the above photograph, how did you do the rear wheel arch covers. These look a damn sight neater than what I've achieved for my car! |

I used some automotive upholstery spray contact cement. I sprayed and stuck down the top of the wheel arches first fitting it as tight as possible. Then I did the lower part and sides. I sliced slits in the edges along the floor where it made sense to allow me to have a tight fit on the sides and wrap along on the floor. . I think it looks better in the pictures as it's by no means perfect. I also had to fit and tuck around the seat belt bar, which is why I did the top first. Hope this helps.
