Impressive work with the spray gun Goff, fantastic finish straight from the gun. Are you using acrylic paint?
Are those just lap belts? We'd never get away with that down here, lap-sash would the minimum requirement.  They'd make you feel more secure as well

Keep up the good work and regular posts.

Evening Steve
Yes the paint is acrylic 2K without lacquer , I did a lot of painting in the late60s/70s but mainly cellulose paint , You can still buy it but i don't think its the same!!!!!!!! ,Once spray painted a mini van black using dulux paint and celly thinners it came out pretty good but took days before it was hard ,sprayed a welding plant for showing at Steam Rallys with crown paint again using celly thinners about 6 years ago and still looks good today, usually give a polish with furniture spray polish works great, But as i said i have issues with the etch not attaching to the body in a couple of places , i did every thing right or so i  thought, 80 grit all over the body before etch went on , Just have to wait and see!!!!!!!!!!!

Seat belts are lap and diagonal 3 point fixing, This car is a 71 and that's all it needs for its MOT test, I think 2 point lap went out around 1968 but could be wrong , photo shows lap fixing above back wheel arch.

A rather late update and another milestone reached, Got the car through its MOT , insured , just waiting for the road tax to come back from the dreaded DVLA , as its Historic but they got it down as P/LG, So i have got to go through procedure with them .
Ok i got some stainless steel pins made for the door hinges as i have had these chrome plated, made a grill from a Austin 1100 nos one bought on ebay for £19 including post, i drilled out all the rivets , used one of the original brackets , made two outer ones from Aliminium , If they corrode i will make a couple from stainless ,the grill came out really nice, Just door cards to make and fit , I am using the same leather as the seats are made from, Paul from mirror trim sold me the left over from the hide for £45 , Cheap leather interior, I bought the window felt from phoenixtrim , It works spot on with the perspex windows Also the door seals though i had to slit the bubble as i could not shut the doors , works OK now, I will put the door felt part number on in case anybody needs the right profile tomorrow,
Photo's added

Regards

I fitted Mini Stainless grill buttons to hold the bonnet down + under pins at the front, Just a few snagging jobs left to do Like fitting the front and rear badge, and soon as the Historic road tax comes through we will be out setting it up, Head lamp rims are from a VDP 1300 ,
