hello everyone my name is alexis and i live in the south west of france near pau. i have actualy 3 mini project, a clubman estate, 1275 gt and the marcos. i just bought a new marcos mk5 shell and i'm building my dream car.
As the shell is 'new' it has no holes for the window tracks on the doors and i don't know how to fix these tracks, i don't know what to put as a lock for the rear hatch either. I've searched a lot but I couldn't find the information.
the shell is cracked in a few places and I don't know how to fix it so that the paint doesn't crack later.
this is the front windscreen pillar
just above the door
just above the hatch
i need some little part like this upper body part hinge (number 4), the little track windows lower parts and all the door glass

The window frames are normally screwed/bolted at 4 points along the top edge of the door, then you will need to glass a block or plate into the door where the frame touches the skin. The Mk5 uses later type mini door lock and a panel lock on the tailgate. The cracks will need grinding out (you may need to glass the inside first) then lay some glass in, flatten off then fill and fair to shape. Mike |

Hi Alexis, welcom to the forum.
A fresh new shell is a nice place to start. you'll find lots of good advise on here from people who are knowledgable and passionate about the Mini Marcos. The "search" function on the forum is a good place to go to look for info.
Have a look at this link for pictures of a build of a new shell by Mini Craft in Japan, they may give you a bit of inspiration.

Best of luck with the build.

Here is a picture of what the window frame looked like in the MKIV I just built. The frame looks longer than yours and the bottom was fastened to wood blocks that were fiber glassed to the bottom on the door |
