"You might be interested to know that I am now the proud owner of another little Marcos. It is one of the cars I found via the ad I put in our Car magazine and has been lying in a shed outside Maritzburg for the past two years. It is one of the original shells he imported and has a British Chassis Plate and number 7154 from Marcos Cars Components Ltd, Greenland Mills, Bradford-On-Avon, Wiltshire.

The fifth photo shows the car in 2005 when it was shown at Cars in the Park in Pietermaritzburg.

Update:

The last photo shows the car with its then owner, Gordon Guthrie, (and a white stripe) at the same show in 2007.

Update 2:

Tertius van Zyl reports: “Gordon Guthrie has sold 7154 to Peter du Toit (who has an awesome collection of sports cars) and 7154 is now being race prepared to compete in the sports car class of the upcoming "David Piper series" in Joburg and Cape Town at the end of this month [January 2011].

“7154 is thought to have been a ‘sample car’ that came out to South Africa with the moulds prior to local production starting in 1967.”
