Obituary - Claude Ballot-Léna

Claude Ballot-Léna drove the Mini Marcos in the 1966 Le Mans 24-hour race with French garage owner, Jean-Louis Marnat. Using a rally-spec Cooper 'S' engine from the BMC Competitions Department (who had no idea what it was about to be used for!), it was the only British car to finish that year and the only Marcos to be classified as a finisher to this day.

Stef Jones writes: "I feel very sad because he was racing a Porsche 911 last year when Michael Hauck and I were at the 6 Heures Historiques. He was very quiet then, but was highly respected."
